If God is good, why is there evil? This is the most frequently asked question by skeptics and believers! It is a legitimate question that deserves a legitimate answer and the Bible provides it. And, the answer will blow your mind! This message goes all the way back to before the creation of the world. A careful study of Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 and we discover God pulling back the curtain of time and allowing us to see that in His sovereignty He gave the angels free will. Understanding this relationship is the key to understanding this fascinating aspect of Christian theology and why our world is like it is.
Not only does the Bible provide the answer, but it tells us who, what, where, when, why, and how it began, and how it will end. This is a great truth to know.
Rabbi Harold Kusher wrote a best-selling book called, “When bad things happen to good people.” He slammed God in the book because of a personal tragedy in his own life and could not understand how a loving God could allow such a thing. His conclusion / either God is not all powerful or God is not all loving. Does Bible give a good answer to this difficult question?
In Ezek. 28:12 God pulls back the curtain of time and gives us a glimpse of into the mystery of iniquity. “Thus says the Lord, You had the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: … Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared. 14 You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones.
This anointed cherub named, Lucifer, which means light one. Not personally seen angel, Bible not Caucasian females long blonde hair, not babies wings / floating clouds / playing harps. One angel O.T. killed 185,000 Assyrian army one night!
“You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you.”
It began not in the Garden of Eden but in Heaven.
